Laptops are such an important part of our business lives now, we can connect to the office ,collect emails and surf the net even when we are  away from the office or home. Its simply a matter of finding a wifi hotspot and you are ready to go.

Finding that elusive hotspot can at times be frustrating. If you are not near a convenient Macdonalds ,or other known hotspot site it is a matter of moving around and booting up the computer each time in order to see if you can connect. With the compact Kensington Wifi Finder all that hassle is a thing of the past as this handy little gadget does the job for you.

The convenient, one-button WiFi Finder Plus quickly indicates signal strength for all 802.11b, 802.11b/g and active Bluetooth® enabled nnetworks  within range. Compact device attaches easily to laptop carrying case or key chain. Silver case with 6 LEDs and built-in flashlight. 1-yearwarranty. The more green LEDs the more the signal (if there is little or no signal you get a red flashing LED).

If there is no signal present, one of the LEDs blinks to indicate that the WiFi Finder is still scanning.  A few seconds after it detects a hot spot, the WiFi Finder resumes scanning for more signals. The more green LEDs the more the signal (if there is little or no signal you get a red flashing LED). This WIFI Finder is  really useful if you have a network PC in a weak signal location as it helps you quickly find a better site for the wireless router or PC antenna.

The unit does sometimes confuse Bluetooth with Wi-Fi, indicating that there was a Wi-Fi signal when there wasn't one. so if you think you are going to be around a lot of bluetooth (for me this is rare) then maybe this product is not for you.
